The Artist
Fox Meadows (Art) is the creative alias of an emerging artist in Jacksonville, Florida.
A native-born resident of the state, she grew up in the rural town of Perry, just south of the state capital of Tallahassee. Known as “The Pine Forest Capital” her rural upbringing gave her an appreciation of small-town communities and she nourished a love for animals, nature, and wildlife from an early age.
A child of the ’90s, Meadows was inspired by the whimsical works of artists such as Lisa Frank and Christian Riese Lassen. She’s studied the equine and floral works of Van Gogh and her favorite paintings are the Victorian era “Madam X” by John Singer Sargent and “Portrait of a Lady” by Giovanni Boldini. Meadows studied for her BFA, Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University.
Always experimenting, Meadows has worked in various mediums including photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, digital graphics, and fiber. She enjoys merging the allure of nature with aesthetic iridescence, such as animal motifs with cosmic elements. She also creates works intended to inspire reflection on themes of beauty and solace, such as still life paintings with sentimental objects or traditional portraiture drawings.
Meadows hopes to work in a gallery after finishing her degree. She also aspires to establish an online storefront dedicated to her animal and nature designs, alongside a blog focused on art history, artistic techniques, and education in animal advocacy. She plans to donate a portion of proceeds to animal rescue charities and wildlife coalitions.
